A warm welcome from our WI
Thanks for joining me here on this website! Here, you’ll find lots of information about who we are and what we do but you’ll find out even more if you come down to see us at one of our meetings. Just look at the Home and Events pages for more details.
Come any time – no pressure – and you’ll be sure of a friendly face and a cuppa!
The WI is all about inspiring women. It’s a rich source of experiences, knowledge and skills that have been passed down generations for over a 100 years now. What a legacy!
Our Gosforth Central WI was formed in 2018 so are a relatively new group. We aim to keep that legacy going as well as adding our own unique stamp!
2026 marks 8 years since the setting up of our WI. We are going from strength to strength and would love you to join us. We received our Certificate in recognition on our 5th Anniversary back in 2023.

We are an enthusiastic group of sociable and engaging women. We meet the second Thursday of every month at St Nicholas Church hall in South Gosforth.
So far, we have learned about Buddhism and local parks, we had an eye opening / feet examining talk from a podiatrist, put our walking shoes on for a guided tour of Jesmond Dene and enjoyed a theatre trip to Calendar Girls – had to be done, didn’t it? :).
We have a varied programme of events planned, as well as other social evenings. look at our Events and Activities tab for more info.
